Cameras have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up an only
child, I had to use a big imagination. There’s embarrassing proof of me starring,
directing, and filming my own movies. Luckily, I made a few friends along the way that took part in those.. super indie films ; )
It was my sophomore year of college that Julia Fay Photography was born. What started as a creative outlet/side gig for extra money in college soon became the dream job I didn't even realize I was after. I was fortunate enough to shoot full time after graduation.
I’m happiest when I’m able to step back and get creative with a scenario. It’s pretty normal for me to get really excited during a shoot and say, ”YA’LL. THE LIGHT! IT'S AMAZING!” a lot. That’s what this job does, it makes me excited. I would say my strongest suit is getting people comfortable in front of the camera. When you're most comfortable, your truest genuine side shines. I give instruction on how where to put those things called hands while also living in the moment.
When I’m not photographing a wedding on the weekend, I’m most likely at the farmers market tasting all of the cheese samples or wheels up for the next adventure. Traveling is a big part of my life and it's what keeps me open minded.
That’s a little about me! I hope to get to know you guys real soon!
