Meet Meg McElwain. Meg is a speaker, philanthropist, and an outspoken advocate for pediatric illness through her work for the Mitchell Bays Turner Pediatric Fund. Meg founded this fund in the name of her son who lost his life to a rare, pediatric cancer at three months old.
“Despite the deep pain Meg continues to feel years later as she raises her older son, Frank, now as a single mom, she lives her life with a unique, bold, and strong perspective. She knows that life is short and our plans for it can change in an instant. Because she trusted God and survived the suffering, she is closer to fully understanding His purpose for her. She chooses to begin each day with prayer and a positive attitude.”
I was humbled and happy to help Meg with some new headshots for this next phase of her life as she leads other mothers and her Charlotte community as a guiding light and an example of strength with her blog and platform. We began the photoshoot on the grounds of Meg’s church, where her son Mitchell is buried. As Meg shared her story with me along the way, I couldn’t help but feel the strength and positivity she gives to everyone she meets.
